Robert Dirkse was raised in the Sacramento area, and began a relationship with Jesus in the spring of 1968 at a “Good News Club”. He received his B.A.in Religious Studies – Urban Studies Emphasis from Westmont College in 1986. Rob served on full-time staff with Sacramento Youth for Christ for 19 years and launched Serve Partnerships Unlimited as the Executive Director 2005 under the covering of The International Association of Ministries and Ministers, a local ministry.  Rob has been married to his lovely wife Karyn for 16 years and has four children ages 13, 14, 24 & 27.  He has been a licensed minister for 18 years and also serves as the Outreach Ministry Leader at Bridgeway Christian Church.  Rob never ceases to be grateful for the privilege to do what he does in serving to unify the Church and equip them for a fruitful legacy of Kingdom impact. As Rob likes to say, “Let’s be the answer to Jesus Prayer in John 17:20-23.”

Shaun owns a computer consulting firm in Sacramento California called Cornerstone Technology Consulting Group.  He has been a youth pastor and counselor for many years… he has led many overseas missions… he is also a facilitator/trainer for the True North Leadership missionary placement team, and a board member of World Outreach placing missionaries all over the globe.

Shaun has been called as an encourager to the body of Christ in the spirit of Barnabas… his heart, passion and calling is to bring the son’s and daughters of God into a living active relationship with Jesus Christ and that they would become fully empowered by his Spirit to step into the fullness of their calling.

Rose has been married for 34 wonderful years to Dave and they have 3 sons – twins Paul and Rick (28 yrs) and Michael (24yrs). She was born in Poland, but has spent most of her life in America. Although she has a Jewish background, she accepted Christ 31 years ago. She has a degree in City Planning and spent several years working in retail management. She is a mixed media artist who’s work is inspired by God’s Word. She has a passion for teaching the bible and mentoring others in their walk with the Lord. She has leading small groups and lecturing for many years. She also has a heart for marriages and spend time guiding and mentoring couples. She has supported SPU for a long time, believing in its ministry of reaching out to the community. She joined the board hoping to add value, add a voice, give guidance, fellowship with other like-minded supporters.

Thomas is a Senior Accountant and Tax Specialist for individuals and small business since 1991.
Kay is an Office Manager for East Sacramento Physical Therapy.  She has worked in the medical field since 1990.

Thomas’ gifting is administration, hospitality, and encouragement.  He is passionate about helping people find their spiritual gifts, connecting gifted people to ministries in the church, mentoring, teaching, participating and leading church missions, both local and overseas.

Kay’s passion is to encourage women and to share God’s loves with them.   Much of her time in ministry is spent mentoring women.  She has also served as a life counselor and has been actively involved with small group bible studies.  Kay also has a passion for missions.  This past year she served as the Coordinator for the Adopt a Mom Program.

We chose to serve with Rob due to the nature of and the far reaching nature of SPU.  The many ministries within SPU reach many people, old and young, single and married.  The SPU ministry also provides a vehicle for bringing unity to the area churches and galvanizes and moves the children of God into practical actions of love and service.
